Pocket Dress
I loved this dress. I used 3 Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar fabrics. I turned out so cute. The instructions were perfect. I do not sew clothes often but you made this so easy to follow. Thank you.
Pockets please! Polly’s Pocket Dress is sure to please any pocket-loving girl! The show stopping features on this dress are lined pockets and beautiful customized bias straps. The dress can be made in all woven fabrics, or mix and match knits (as long as the bias is woven). This dress is perfect for twirling summer fun, or layered to last through many seasons. The bodice is fully lined without any enclosures.
Don’t be intimidated by custom bias, check out this video tutorial that makes even a beginner excited to add this custom feature to this and many other projects. Or skip this detail and you can easily use store-bought extra-wide bias tape.

Too much gathering
While this dress is cute. I didn't like how much gathering I had to do that wasn't fun at all. But still everyone that see the dress loves it. I've change a few thing on the dress so I don't use to much fabric as I live in Australia and fabric is really expensive.
Best dress ever for a little girl that loves pockets!!!
My 2 year old loves having pockets to put stuff in but the pockets on most of her dresses are small and things fall out. Polly's is perfect because she can fill up the large pockets! The dress was also an easy and quick sew, I actually made her 2 the 1st day! Polly's is definitely our new favorite!
OH THOSE POCKETS!
Love it. Love the bodice (I did it in knit), love the skirt, love the pockets, love it all! The bodice is a perfect use for those last bits of custom knit. The pattern also gives instructions for making your own bias tape, which was new to me.

My little wants pockets on everything! This pattern is fantastically written and love the outcome. Pockets are the perfect size to shove all kinds of treasures in!

I was surprised to see how many pieces were involved in this dress, most of them were just measurements which is a great way to save paper and ink by only having to print 1 page! The direction were clear with good pictures. I like that it can be woven and knit or just woven fabric. The pieces came together quickly and the dress is very cute. My daughter can't stop twirling and filling her generously sized pockets. "....honey, have you seen the car keys?"

This dress was very quick and easy, but looks great on my daughter and she loves the huge pockets!

Cute pockets
A cute pattern and simple to make (almost). I had a problem with the side panels and how they were to be distributed on each side of the bodice side seam. There was nothing mentioned in the instructions as to how to match them with the bodice. This may be a little hard to explain but the side panels do extend into the front and back of the bodice so must be even on both sides. No one could explain when I questioned this part of the pattern. I am not an inexperienced sewer . Anyway, I centered the panels with the seam in the bodice and then gathered the panels so that they would extend about 3 inches on each side of the bodice seam. That way they did match on both sides of the dress.
Polly's is our new favorite!
This dress was so easy to put together and has such a beautiful result! This will definitely be one I carry in my shop and I'll look forward to making every time!
