I really enjoyed making the Oakley Woman's Pea Coat. The instructions were very easy to understand and follow. I have a very hard time buying patterns because I am a much smaller size on top than on bottom. I am ready to cut out my second coat. The only modification I will make is, I will line the "skirt" with the same lining as the sleeves and back because the double layer of fleece was much too bulky and didn't hang great. Thank you for patterns to accommodate so many style choices and shapes.
You are going to love how you feel in your trendy new Oakley’s Pea Coat! It is fully lined and can be made with a variety of fabrics, such as cotton, tweed, corduroy, and anything else comfy you may want! Oakley’s features a peter pan collar, a bodice that appears fitted but still feels roomy inside, comfy sleeves that can be rolled up or left long, an adorable ruffle skirt all the way around, and of course the traditional double-breasted front flaps, finished off with 6 large buttons. If you have never sewn a button before, no problem! Our step-by-step photos make it really easy to follow. (Or you can even use snaps under the buttons!) All seams are fully enclosed and you won’t believe how professional your Oakley’s coat will look when it’s finished! Make it in solids for a sophisticated look or play it up with your favorite prints. The sky is the limit now lets see what YOU can do with it!
Please note that PDF patterns differ from traditional sewing patterns, and not all PDF designers have the same style. We prefer to give measurements for simple rectangles instead of rectangular pattern pieces to save your time, paper, ink, and tape. You will only receive pattern pieces for curved portions of the garment, and you will follow the cutting chart for the remaining pieces.
