This pattern is created with the same rise in the front and in the back for a more modest look. If you prefer a more modern, low rise front, you can use the blog below to achieve that look!
How to adjust the rise of your pieces:
Note: The newsboy cap and suspenders shown in some listing photos are not part of this knickers pattern. Please see Christopher’s Newsboy Hat and William’s Formal Accessory patterns.
Here is what you receive:
Measurements for sizes 6/12 mos to 8 boys.
Thorough, uncomplicated step-by-step instructions accompanied by color photos that allow you to follow along with ease from start to finish.
Computer drawn pattern pieces you can print over and over again; no more patterns that rip or tear!
Please note that PDF patterns differ from traditional sewing patterns, and not all PDF designers have the same style. We prefer to give measurements for simple rectangles instead of rectangular pattern pieces to save your time, paper, ink, and tape. You will only receive pattern pieces for curved portions of the garment, and you will follow the cutting chart for the remaining pieces.

I haven't been sewing for very long, and have only made a few items of baby clothing and pyjama pants, so very much consider myself a beginner, but I found this pattern extremely easy to follow. I learnt some new techniques, which I was a bit worried about, but the instructions were very clear. One of the few items I've made on which I didn't have to unpick anything! They also fit perfectly. I sized up to accommodate a cloth nappy and allow room for growth.
I bought this pattern because sometimes too many ruffles aren't a good thing, so I wanted a more simple pant. This was perfect! Super easy to follow, the sizing was spot on. Thanks!
