Poppy's Peekaboo Dress was the first tie-back bodice of its kind! Since its release and immediate explosion into the boutique world in 2013, others have tried to recreate this iconic bodice, but you can't beat an original! This adorable dress was designed for spring and summer, but many have layered it with a long sleeve shirt and ruffle pants and it's even cute for fall and winter! Besides the tie-back, this pattern also features a sweetheart shaped front bodice, elastic back waist, and a double layer skirt with different peekaboo options.  This pattern can also be created as a single layer skirt or a double layer without the peekaboo option. The babies pattern includes a closed back version since a knot on the back may be uncomfortable to babies who spend most of their time on their backs. This pattern works best with wovens, but many have upcycled t-shirts to use as the bodice (tutorial HERE). Get creative with rayon challis or lace to create that one-of-a-kind, fun, yet girlie, outfit your daughter or boutique customers will love! The sky is the limit now let’s see what YOU can do with it!

Nice pattern, cute dress

I thought this was a really well written, easy to follow pattern. I love the style. I am a bit of a traditionalist, I appreciate CKC trying to save paper and ink by not printing out squares/rectangles but I would find it easier to help plan the fabric to have those pieces included. My DD is a bit skinny for the pattern and found the bodice a bit too high under the arms but it would be an easy adjustment.

Lovely dress!

I've made this dress twice, and it is so lovely! My only issue with the pattern is about the top stitching. The instructions just tell you to top stitch the straps, but it's not clear on which side is the top for the back straps. It took some time to figure it out. My advice would be to lay the pieces out first and then do the top stitching. :)

My first CKC pattern and I am totally hooked !

After completing my first Poppy, I already have plans for the many more. I have also ordered the January Mixup and am so excited to start making beautiful pieces for my family and friends.

Fave pattern I own!

I LOVE this pattern! So easy to follow and easy to create with amazing results! I don't think there's a fabric combo that this dress DOESNT look good in. You can't go wrong.

Fabulous

This is just SO cute. The pattern is so easy to follow, and you can add as many little 'tie-up's on the skirt as you like to change it up a bit. I made one for my niece and she fell in LOVE. This dress is a bit shorter in length so take that into consideration when sewing, especially if you like longer skirts...just add a bit before cutting!
