Poppy's Peekaboo Dress was the first tie-back bodice of its kind! Since its release and immediate explosion into the boutique world in 2013, others have tried to recreate this iconic bodice, but you can't beat an original! This adorable dress was designed for spring and summer, but many have layered it with a long sleeve shirt and ruffle pants and it's even cute for fall and winter! Besides the tie-back, this pattern also features a sweetheart shaped front bodice, elastic back waist, and a double layer skirt with different peekaboo options.  This pattern can also be created as a single layer skirt or a double layer without the peekaboo option. The babies pattern includes a closed back version since a knot on the back may be uncomfortable to babies who spend most of their time on their backs. This pattern works best with wovens, but many have upcycled t-shirts to use as the bodice (tutorial HERE). Get creative with rayon challis or lace to create that one-of-a-kind, fun, yet girlie, outfit your daughter or boutique customers will love! The sky is the limit now let’s see what YOU can do with it!

My first ever dress pattern and I love it

Posted by pamela davis on 6th Jul 2018

Was asked to make a dress for a 3 year olds birthday party. Was given a photo and recognized it as the Poppy pattern. I made a practice dress because I sew bags and quilts, not clothes. Both the practice dress and the party dress turned out beautiful, everyone is in love with them. The pattern was so easy to follow and fit great. I can't say enough!!! I am now on a CKC pur chasing spree.

    Lovely dress pattern

Posted by Amanda Lopez on 30th Apr 2018

This dress is so cute and really easy to sew up, although I had a difficult time understanding the instructions the way they were written. Once I understood what was meant in the directions, it was a super easy and quick sew.

Perfect for people who are bad at instructions!

Posted by Lindsey Krstic on 28th Feb 2017

That's me! I'm terrible at reading instructions, but a good visual learner. This pattern has both written instructions as well as photographs of every step along the way. Love the pattern, adore the dress!

This pattern packs a one two punch of being easy to show but impressive at the same time.
