Poppy's Peekaboo Dress was the first tie-back bodice of its kind! Since its release and immediate explosion into the boutique world in 2013, others have tried to recreate this iconic bodice, but you can't beat an original! This adorable dress was designed for spring and summer, but many have layered it with a long sleeve shirt and ruffle pants and it's even cute for fall and winter! Besides the tie-back, this pattern also features a sweetheart shaped front bodice, elastic back waist, and a double layer skirt with different peekaboo options.  This pattern can also be created as a single layer skirt or a double layer without the peekaboo option. The babies pattern includes a closed back version since a knot on the back may be uncomfortable to babies who spend most of their time on their backs. This pattern works best with wovens, but many have upcycled t-shirts to use as the bodice (tutorial HERE). Get creative with rayon challis or lace to create that one-of-a-kind, fun, yet girlie, outfit your daughter or boutique customers will love! The sky is the limit now let’s see what YOU can do with it!

Bought this pattern for the sew along, probably wouldn't have otherwise, but this turned out so easy and cute that I can't wait to make another!

    Gorgeous dress

Posted by Unknown on 18th Mar 2015

The Poppy is an attention getter! My daughter gets compliments from everyone when she wears it. There are so many things about this dress that beautiful. The sweetheart neckline, the way the straps tie in the back, and the skirt ends up being so full that everyone asks me how I got it that way. The only reason I give it less than 5 stars is because the creation of the straps is truly very confusing and really hard to figure out. The construction itself isn't hard, but I don't think the instructions are as thorough as they need to be.

This was the first CKC pattern I have ever purchased and I was so happy with how easy it was to sew! This is also the very first dress I have ever made! My daughter is 23 months so I did the 2t and she looks adorable in it! I could not be happier and plan on making many more!
