Poppy's Peekaboo Dress was the first tie-back bodice of its kind! Since its release and immediate explosion into the boutique world in 2013, others have tried to recreate this iconic bodice, but you can't beat an original! This adorable dress was designed for spring and summer, but many have layered it with a long sleeve shirt and ruffle pants and it's even cute for fall and winter! Besides the tie-back, this pattern also features a sweetheart shaped front bodice, elastic back waist, and a double layer skirt with different peekaboo options.  This pattern can also be created as a single layer skirt or a double layer without the peekaboo option. The babies pattern includes a closed back version since a knot on the back may be uncomfortable to babies who spend most of their time on their backs. This pattern works best with wovens, but many have upcycled t-shirts to use as the bodice (tutorial HERE). Get creative with rayon challis or lace to create that one-of-a-kind, fun, yet girlie, outfit your daughter or boutique customers will love! The sky is the limit now let’s see what YOU can do with it!

    LOVE this dress!

    Posted by Anne-Marie on 27th Sep 2014

The finished product is great! It's a nice quick sew WITH NO RUFFLES! (i'm not a fan of sewing ruffles lol). The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars is because the instructions were slightly confusing as far as making the straps and also I wish they had used a different fabric for the front bodice and its lining for easier instructions. I've used this pattern along with the instructions found in their blog to make upcycled dresses. Definitely one of my favorite dress to make!

    Very Easy

I'm by no means a pro and this pattern makes me feel like one. I was intimidated since it said it was an intermediate and I consider myself a beginner but this was easy! I love all of CKC's patterns! If I can do it, so can you :)

    Poppy Dress

Posted by Georgia Olsen on 6th Aug 2014

This dress just came out when I joined this group. I decided to try the pattern, so I bought it. I loved it and made 3 of them in sizes 12 mos. 3T and size 6. I have been sewing for 60 years and these are the best patterns I have ever used. I will never go back to paper patterns again. I sew for 3 little girls 2 of them are my Great Grand Daughters. I also sew for my Great Grandson wears a 3t. The ruffles are fantastic, you can mix and match the patterns to make different looks. Just love them.

This is hands down my most requested dress out of anything I've made. It's such a cute dress, every little girl should have one! It really comes together very easily as well, which is a big plus for me!
