Poppy's Peekaboo Dress was the first tie-back bodice of its kind! Since its release and immediate explosion into the boutique world in 2013, others have tried to recreate this iconic bodice, but you can't beat an original! This adorable dress was designed for spring and summer, but many have layered it with a long sleeve shirt and ruffle pants and it's even cute for fall and winter! Besides the tie-back, this pattern also features a sweetheart shaped front bodice, elastic back waist, and a double layer skirt with different peekaboo options.  This pattern can also be created as a single layer skirt or a double layer without the peekaboo option. The babies pattern includes a closed back version since a knot on the back may be uncomfortable to babies who spend most of their time on their backs. This pattern works best with wovens, but many have upcycled t-shirts to use as the bodice (tutorial HERE). Get creative with rayon challis or lace to create that one-of-a-kind, fun, yet girlie, outfit your daughter or boutique customers will love! The sky is the limit now let’s see what YOU can do with it!

    super cute !

Posted by Rmenda Crane on 3rd Nov 2015

I bought to make my daughter a dress to wear to the new minion movie. Her measurements put her at a size 5 in bodice but there is no way she going to fit in a size 5 so I went with the size she normally wears. I had some trouble figuring out how to attach the straps but their youtube videos helped me there. When finished the elastic wasn't tight enough due to the weight of the fabric so it really pulled down so i had to pin the back of the dress to keep from exposing her. If she doesn't grow much in height she will be able to wear it again. all in all a cute pattern and if I use again I will adjust the elastic so its tighter fiting in the back.

Used the poppy pattern for my GD birthday "My little pony" dress.. Definitely will use this pattern again. It is listed as intermediate but I would say beginners will find these directions easy to follow.. ***** 5 stars

Poppy is my go to pattern, it's definitely one of my favorites. I was a little intimidated since it's an intermediate pattern, but it was super easy to follow. The videos for it on youtube are a life saver!
